De-escalation Strategies Workshop: Free Training for Parents
Are you looking for effective ways to help your child calm down during challenging moments? Achieving True Self (ATS) is offering a valuable opportunity for parents and caregivers in our community.
Workshop Details
- Date: Saturday, December 9th
- Time: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Location: Towson University Building, 510 Thomas Run Rd, Bel Air, MD
- Cost: FREE (grant-funded)
This comprehensive one-day workshop will be led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and will cover essential strategies for managing both minor and severe behavioral challenges. Parents will learn valuable preventative techniques and understand when to provide support versus space for their child.

- Safety-Care curriculum
- Practical strategies for de-escalation
- Tips for providing positive attention
- Light refreshments provided
This is an adults-only workshop (18+) designed for parents, families, and caregivers. The best part? Thanks to grant funding from the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission, this valuable training is offered at no cost to families.
